The 2015 Siege of Europe

Through the actions of its votaries Islam presents us time and time again with unforeseeable shocks.  From occupying or bombing embassies, through hijacking ships or flying planes into buildings, suicide bombings of public transport, ‘lone wolf’ attacks, to most recently the tidal wave of illegal migrants, the West is under assault from outside like never before.  What will Islam inflict on us next?  Even having followed Islam’s conquest of the West for twenty years, I could not muster one guess.

The current illegal migrant crisis shows how the West manages things publicly, and where one has to read between the lines.  The West wasn’t just faced with this sudden onslaught.  The media were creating a narrative of a tragedy not of the migrants’ making.  Columnists were blaming the West for the rise of Islamic State and for causing strife in Iraq and Syria, ignoring the fact that many other states were supplying migrants on an industrial scale.  They actively encouraged sympathy for migrants while finding fault with the West's response.  The stage-managed photograph of the dead three-year-old boy, notwithstanding the outrageous behaviour of his father which directly led to his death, triggered an avalanche of manipulated reactions forcing governments around the world into accepting greater numbers of migrants than they could normally cope with.  Even the language used to describe the situation came under intense scrutiny.

Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic responded quickly by building fences along their borders and policing them.  They promised to take only Christians on the wise principle of preventing social disruption.  This led to intense criticism from western European countries which were ineffectively trying to enforce quotas.

It seems clear now that while trying to claim the moral high ground these same states were making urgent and discrete changes to their own border controls, having been caught short by the magnitude, speed and sympathy that illegal migrants had generated.  Now we hear that the Schengen Agreement, a cornerstone of the European Union offering borderless travel across its component states, is being involuntarily revised.

Yet even as Europe is being conquered and its foundational principles compromised, nobody blames the cause, that of resurgent Islam.

Worse still, nobody with any influence and power is actively opposing it.

Welcome to the new, bigger Islamic world.  Given what’s happening in the old, buggered Islamic world, you are unlikely to enjoy it.
